A Special Note
From Delilah…
The Economy and Our Retreat
We have been conducting retreats for over 18 years now,
and we could not bear to shut down because of fears. Kalani
Resort in Hawaii actually feels they do pretty well in a down
economy, and we saw no signs of there being any extra space or
empty rooms this past January. Here at Delilah's Belly Dance
Retreats, we feel we are doing important work, and that women
need the personal power and strength they get from belly dance,
now more than ever! We
are empowered by the women who understand and support our mission.
Because of the current state of the economy,
we have shortened the number of days in our upcoming retreats
and reserved less rooms to make our retreats smaller to help
with costs. However, we are offering 2 fantastic retreats for
you to choose from in 2010 (January and April). We've
put together many incentives packages and options for women to
encourage them to plan ahead and look forward to a more positive
future. As
always, we have an Early-Bird
Discount and
an Easy-Payment-Plan to
assist you in making attendance a reality. It also helps us
meet our obligations for a successful retreat.
Thinking About It?
If you are interested, please
register early rather than later
to reserve the kind of accommodations you prefer. If you are
thinking about it, please let us know and we will alert you
before we come to the close of our registration.
Getting Good Deals on Flights
When the economy gets stressed we have seen prices to Hawaii go down in
effort to help the island communities. This past year some tickets were $299
round trip from Seattle. Good for our retreat!
Money tight? Don't know
how to make this a reality? If you are a dancer with little means, but dream of attending,
don’t give up! Please
read this inspiring article, it may change your life: Belly

The Power of A Gift
If you are a person of means, and can make
a “gift” to
a woman who you know would profit physically, spiritually,
and emotionally from participating
in our retreat, please consider making a donation in either
part or full tuition. It can make
a powerful difference in a dancer's life, as well as the
greater good. This kind of gesture has been done on many
occasions over the years. During
these stressful times we do need to be aware our sisters may
need a helping hand.
We have had dance troupes raise money to send
a member. We’ve had fathers send their daughters, wives, and
mother in laws. We had one woman give it as a reward for finding
another woman’s diamond ring! We have given retreats away as
fundraiser's for accident victims. There have been many beneficial
and rewarding occasions!

Additional
Notes
Sleeping Arrangements
If you are known to snore regularly, you will need a private
room or register to share a room with a good natured friend
or fellow snorer. Everyone gets a set of ear plugs in the room,
because the jungle gets kind of wild sounding at night from
birds, frogs, breeze, rain on the roof, and coconuts swaying
in the wind! I personally sleep better at Kalani, but it is
exotic.
Extra Relaxation
Another thing to consider is adding vacation days to chill and
recover from jet lag before the retreat. If there are retreats
scheduled at Kalani before or after us, space can be extremely
limited. Please be early with your plans.
Want to Bring Your Spouse/Partner?
They can join our retreat and be supportive members. It is very
relaxing and there are Kalani classes and programs they can participate
in as well as have fun drumming with Erik. But if hanging with
belly dancers is not their cup of tea, then another idea is to
meet up with husband or significant other immediately following
the retreat.
