  • Download Program Booklet:
Full booklet featuring details and itinerary (pdf link 1.7MB)

  • Instructor Training Dancers:
Participants plan to arrive from world wide destinations by 1:00pm on Friday at Hilo Airport so you can easily make the first class at Kalani (50 minute drive in the country). If you are coming from far away and need to arrive the night before to spin off some jet lag, we recommend you relax by staying at Naniloa Resort. They have a free shuttle
    (4 minutes from the airport)
with a beautiful view of Hilo Bay, peaceful grounds and restaurants in walking distance. Don’t forget you don’t want to miss the
    first class!

  • General Study Dancers:
Participants plan to arrive, as stated above, for orientation and your first class at 4:00pm.

  • Field Trips:
We have a busy itinerary but afternoons are free for the General Study participants and on Day 7, January 28th everyone has that entire afternoon free. You might like
to take a Kalani adventure to
one or more of the amazing natural sites close by. Volcano, swim or snorkel in hot ponds, steam vents, horse back riding
    or hiking.

  • Other Costs:
You will need a drum and finger cymbals for the drum class. A Power Belly weightbelt is wonderful to use during the retreat, but not mandatory. DETAILS If you do not own one, you can purchase one in advance and we can have it shipped to meet you at Kalani; same goes for drums. See web for prices and design. We have hip scarfs and veils too. At Kalani there is not too much to spend your money on. There is a small gift shop with espresso and snacks. While on retreat you may want to budget to get a Kalani massage or other bodywork: $80 for I hour $145 for 2 hour.

  • Video Available:
    An edited souvenir DVD of
clips from the retreat and performance may be offered by Laura Rose after we get home from the retreat.
