General Study Dancers:
Participants plan to arrive from world wide destinations by 1:00pm on Friday at Hilo Airport so you can easily make the first 4:00 pm class at Kalani (50 minute drive in the country). If
you are coming from far away and need to arrive the night before to spin off some jet lag, we recommend you relax by staying at Naniloa Resort. They have a free shuttle (4 minutes from the airport) with a beautiful view of Hilo Bay, peaceful grounds and restaurants in walking distance. Don’t forget you don’t want
to miss the first class!

Field Trips:
Most of the afternoons have free time plus a couple evenings. You do not have to attend all classes either. We have left a large block of free time on day 6. Basically before lunch through to evening. You can arrange a sack lunch and take off all day if you want. You might like to take a Kalaniadventure to one or more of the amazing natural sites close by. Volcano, swim or snorkel in hot ponds, steam vents, horse back riding or hiking. Or simply veg at
the pool!

Other Costs:
You might like a Power Belly
weightbelt especially for learning new Unmata moves. They are wonderful to use during the retreat, but not mandatory. If you do not own one, you can purchase one in advance and we can have it shipped to meet you at Kalani. We have hip scarfs and veils too. At Kalani there is not too much to spend your money on out side of a Kalani Adventure excursion. There is a small gift shop with espresso and snacks.
While on retreat you may want to budget to
get a Kalani massage or other bodywork: $80 for 1 hour $145 for 2 hours.

OVERVIEW COURSE DESCRIPTION
Power Belly Class with Delilah & Erik

This is Delilah's popular style of workout done in the round with or without the Power Belly wight belts. This is done to a unique live signature style of music composed by Erik Brown; Bass, hand drums, samples and looped tracks. The weight belts challenge the dancer to work a little harder. It can also be done isometrically without weights. The work improves muscle memory, core body balance, and agility for learning new combos and isolations. Its a perfect mix for the Unmata style, as well as learning and retaining new isolations and choreography.

Egyptian Style with Dahlia Moon
Dahlia will begin with a tutorial in Egyptian basics and then teach a choreography. She also has a improve class she's inspired to share with you and a folkloric Saidi style Cane Dance. Canes can be ordered closer to the event if you need one.

Amy will be introducing you to her unique body mechanics and UNMATA styling that came out of Hula, Hip Hop and Tribal Belly Dancing. The music will be loud and you will get very very wet! We promise! Amy’s course work with include elements of:

• Signature Combos
