RETREAT ITINERARY (last updated March 8, 2009)

More essential details will be included in your follow up confirmation packets as we come closer to our event. All participants receive printed notes from the instructors.

April 2-9 / Friday-Friday
Plan to arrive as early in the day as possible on Friday April 2, 2010. It takes about 45 minutes to get to Kalani from Hilo airport (ITO) and the shuttle driver may stop so you can fast shop and pick up supplies you don’t want to pack, adding some more time. The shuttle cost shifts depending on the amount of riders, $35-$65. If you want to rent a car, that’s an option or if you want to share a rental car, let us know and we will put you in touch with other participants interested.

Retreat Begins!
Day One: Friday April 2

3:00pm Kalani check-in
4:30-6:00pm Weightbelt class with Delilah and live music by Erik. We’ll go over weight belt basics and kick the kinks out from the flight. A weight belt can be very useful in helping to speed the learning curve of the choreographies you will learn on this retreat and the UNMATA isolation work.
6:00-7:00pm Dinner
7:45-9:00pm Introductions all around. Round Robin dance exchange. Wear a costume and introduce
yourself with a spontaneous dance to more of Erik Brown’s brand of funky Power Belly Fusion. Instructors will demonstrate styles they are teaching.
